1977 Bandit Trans Am, Custom Models, Movie Information and More!
UPDATE: Yes, we are doing the run again in May 2008. Starting in Cleveland and heading south throught the mountains and ending at the Year One Experience in Braselton, Georgia. Check out the route map and dates on the bandit run webiste, the link is in the next paragraph. Join us or wave to us as we past through your neck of the woods. The Bandit run was the brain child of David Hershey and Dave Hall of Restore a Muscle car. The website link is : http://www.thebanditrun.com. I am listed as Bigt232 on there. In May 2007 thirty TransAms left from Texarkana, Texas and headed east to Atlanta on a three day tour for the 30th anniversary of the movie (1977-2007). Everyday the number of cars grew until we were 60 Trans Ams strong by the time we arrived at the Year One Experience in Atlanta, Georgia. There Year One unveiled their Burt Reynolds's Edition of a 1977 Trans Am. It is an awesome car with 650 horsepower. I drove from Atlanta to Texarkana and back in my Trans Am. I had a blast!! The best part was not only seeing all the Trans Ams, but meeting so many great, new friends from all over the world ( England, Canada, U.S.). I got the privilege of showing some die-hard fans many of the original movie locations.
